In a popular Ted talk, the Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie spoke about “The Danger of a Single Story.” She argued that it is important to recognize that there is never a single story about any person or place. Join us as we explore what it means to embrace and celebrate complexity within our communities of faith.
Kirk Freeman is a Ministerial Intern at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Rockville. He is currently a Master of Divinity student at Wesley Theological Seminary and is discerning a call to ordained Unitarian Universalist ministry. Kirk previously worked for fifteen years in politics, first as a congressional staffer and then as a government relations executive. He lives in Washington, DC, with his wife, Betsy, who is passionate about her work as a postpartum doula and OWL-trained comprehensive sexuality educator. Together they parent two elementary school-aged children.
