Becky Zimmerman

Becky Zimmerman joined the CUU family in 2013. Central to her belief system is that all life experience is valuable, so her many years of involvement in a Christian denomination are an important part of her past. At Cedarhurst, Becky found a community where all experiences are honored.

Becky has served on the Board as Worship Services Trustee and as Finance Trustee. She sings in, and co-directs, the CUU choir, and enjoys congregational activities both in person and online – a bonus that came out of the pandemic. She has participated in UUtheVote, a non-partisan initiative that encourages voter participation in local, state, and national elections, and helps people register to vote and learn how and where they can vote.

In the community, Becky has participated in CUU co-sponsored vigils and protests following tragic events in our country that targeted minorities and marginalized groups. In the UU Central East Region, she has directed the adult choir at Summer Institute for the past two years.

Becky’s three-part focus for her 2023-2025 term as Board President includes:

  • Inclusiveness – being intentional and proactive in welcoming all to CUU.
  • Communication – establishing and maintaining clear, open channels of communication between the Board, the Minister, committees, and the congregation.
  • Momentum – moving forward as CUU continues to grow into a multi-generational congregation where everyone is heard, and everyone feels safe.

Becky lives in Westminster with her husband, Jay. Their three adult children and two little grandchildren all live within an hour…so far!
