“To be human is to be religious. To be religious is to make connections. To lead a meaningful life among the many competing forces of the twenty-first century, each of us needs support in making meaningful re-connections to the best in our global heritage, the best in others, and the best in ourselves.”
— Rev. John Buehrens
At Cedarhurst Unitarian Universalists, official membership begins when you sign our Membership Book, which is a sign of your commitment to your fellow CUU members to support CUU through your gifts of time (your presence at worship and other events), talent (service to CUU tasks and the larger community), and treasure (ensuring the congregation’s financial sustainability). Membership also confers the right to participate directly in the governance, mission, vision, and administration of CUU.
How To Become a Member
Once you have decided to embark upon the journey toward membership, a member of the Growth Through Engagement committee will gladly assist you in taking the steps towards that commitment and becoming part of our CUU family. Our membership pathway has three steps: a conversation with our minister, a new member orientation gathering, and an official new member welcome ceremony, currently held in the autumn and spring.
If you have any questions not addressed above or would like more information about becoming a member, please speak to an usher, greeter, or tech host – or fill out our contact form.
