Pic of churchWELCOME to Cedarhurst Unitarian Universalists (CUU)! We are a congregation of one faith and many beliefs emphasizing social justice, the worth and dignity of every person, and support for each other in finding one’s own spiritual path.

Visiting a new church can sometimes be overwhelming and can lead to many questions. If you do not find the answers you need from this website, please come to a Sunday morning service, email us at info@cedarhurstuu.org. We will return your email within the week.

Where is CUU located?

CUU is located at the corner of Club House Road and Old Westminster Pike in Finksburg, MD. The entrance to the parking lot is on Old Westminster Pike. Please click here for Google directions to the church from your location.

What are worship service times?

Services begin at 10:30 am on Sunday morning. From September to June the service is led by our minister, Rev. Amy Williams Clark, or a guest speaker. Summer services are led by a member of the congregation and are more informal. Services last for one hour. After the service please stay for coffee and conversation.

Children are welcome at the services. See religious exploration information below.

Is religious exploration available?

From September to June, children attend the first part of the adult service and then go to classrooms for their religious exploration. In summer months children can attend the service with parents.

Adult religious exploration classes are offered at various times during the year.

What should I wear?

Our outfits are as diverse as we are! From dresses to jeans…. come as you are.

Is CUU wheelchair accessible?

The main level of the church is accessible from the parking lot. CUU is wheelchair accessible on the main level where the worship area, unisex powder room, and kitchen are located. The lower level, where religious exploration classes are held, is only accessible by stairs.

Is parking available?

CUU has a large parking lot available close to the church. Handicap accessible parking spots are in the row closest to the church.

What do I need to know as a first-time visitor?

Please feel free to dress comfortably. Casual wear is welcome. We encourage wearing name tags to facilitate getting to know one another. Name tags are available at the Welcome Table directly inside the worship room.

We do not recite a doctrine; we choose to respect each person’s spiritual journey as unique and valid. We responsibly explore life’s questions together knowing that while our journeys may differ, our common goals unite us.

All ceremonies are inclusive. We’d love to have you join us!
